DD, G, L, OMG Boobs

A little update article.

I finally got my ass in gear and started seriously looking into reduction mammaplasty (breast reduction). This is something I have wanted since, oh high school. I went from a training bra to a DD bra. Gradually throughout the years they have increased (along with my weight) to beyond porno size. Two years ago I was a G, a 36 G! Now I have reached a L cup and I have gained no extra weight, in fact I even lost weight, so what the hell! Seriously, try going to any store, Target, Younkers, Victoria Secret, find the largest cup size and get back to me. No one but specialty stores carry a flippin’ L cup. And oh, they are not cheap and last about three months.

However, the absolute best part about these monsters is the under-bra rashes, shoulder pain, permanent strap indentations and the constant back pain. I mean they are awesome.

So here I am, I got a doctor’s recommendation for a surgeon’s consult. I went to the surgeon’s office. They told me I was a perfect candidate, took some rather awkward pictures for the insurance company, told me about the surgery and said they would contact me after they heard back from the insurance company, but not to worry, there is no reason they wouldn’t approve it.

Haha.

The Surgeon’s nurse contacted me about two weeks ago. The insurance company basically does not believe I should have a breast reduction since I have no documented back pain in my medical history nor took any pain medicine for my back. She told me I have two choices; start on some kind of pain treatment for six months and we can resubmit my request or write a letter to the insurance company explaining why I never sought medical attention for my back/shoulders. I wrote a letter. However, I am still not very confident that they will approve my surgery, it has been a week since I’ve submitted the letter and haven’t heard a thing.

That’s where I’m at. I’ll update when I have more info.

UPDATE 4/1/2009
Surgery was approved! Woohoo! It is looking like mid-April for the big day.

Hope your big surgery day is going well. That must have been a good letter!
