smells like middle-aged spirit

I’m sitting in the dentist chair this afternoon listening the easy-listening adult contemporary shit they have pumping through the speakers (i.e. “Why” by Annie Lennox, “Melt With You” by Modern English) waiting for my teeth to get clean.

I like listening to calm music at places like the dentist and doctor offices, it centers me. The issue is while I laying back waiting for the next non-offensive tune, Nirvana starts playing. Nirvana. This is when I start feeling old. Nirvana is now easy-listening. Nirvana! Holy shit, this just floors me and for the next thirty minutes I keep thinking how Nirvana changed music, they introduced a new genre and I’m apparently not a spring chicken anymore.

Is this how it felt when the Beatles went the oldies station?

What a sad day.

keep on celebrating

It has been a very busy May. Clearly, I haven’t uploaded any pics for two months! So on this rainy Monday night I decided what the hell, I will update my ol’ little blog.

Last week was a whirlwind. I really started my birthday off right!
Wednesday: We met up with Derek & Kari at Trostel’s Dish. So yummy, however, two martinis prior to dinner made me kind of loopy the rest of the meal and passed out at 9:30. I’m awesome.

Thursday: Went to mom’s for my very favorite tradition, dinner, dessert and cards with family. Mom made a wonderful meal and I got some fun jewelry and these awesome Umbra shelves. Afterwards met up with some friends at the cAb for Rico’s birthday celebration. And if I haven’t bragged enough, Nick made me fudge for my birthday! love it and he got me a printer and a scanner that I’ve been wanting/needing for 4 months now.

Friday: I took the day off to do errands, it was great. I got my haircut, worked out, went shopping. That night went to Kari’s graduation party. She’s a Master now. Holy good food and it was a perfect night. I crashed about midnight, not too bad for me :)

Saturday: Meet up with the grandparents for some breakfast, headed over to Rico’s daughter’s graduation party (catered by Cafe Su, yummy).

Sunday: Cleaned house for our guest on Wednesday, meet up with Derek & Kari’s family at Encore for some more graduation celebration, then to the Broomball tournament, District 5 and Shams won!

This week we have the last of Broomball until Fall and Megan will be in town Wednesday, whoohoo.

As for pictures I uploaded:

Hil says vote obama

Hillary Clinton on Wednesday reiterated her vow to stay in the Democratic presidential race, but she said it would be a “terrible mistake” for her supporters to vote for John McCain over Barack Obama.

Sen. Hillary Clinton vowed to stay in the race, saying she’s “not going anywhere.”

“Anybody who has ever voted for me or voted for Barack has much more in common in terms of what we want to see happen in our country and in the world with the other than they do with John McCain,” Clinton said on CNN’s “The Situation Room.”

“I’m going to work my heart out for whoever our nominee is — obviously I’m still hoping to be that nominee, but I’m going to do everything I can to make sure that anyone who supported me … understands what a grave error it would be not to vote for Sen. Obama.”
