That’s kind of the point…
I kind of live at Target. It is rather pathetic how often I am there. (There are employees who actually know me). You can then imagine the amount of plastic sacks I’ve acquired on these trips. We have sacks upon sacks in other sacks, it is ridiculous and I flat out refuse to throw them away (nick uses them for lunch bags, I have environmental guilt, etc) However, they are annoying the shit out of me, so I was really happy to see they (and multiple stores) are now offering the reusable bags. Great idea. And Target’s are cheap, not made the best, but cheap.
So, I grabbed four bags. I was pretty excited that they fold up and I’ll be getting the nice canvas bags from work, so I’ll be set.
After grabbing random items that I “need” I headed up to the cashier. Inserted debit card. Went through the menu: “no cash back”, “yes the total is $15.34”. Done.
“Receipt with you or in the bag”
“In the bag, please” (then in a puzzled voice, as she hands me a plastic bag with my reusable bags inside)
huh.

haha, amazing.
actually, now that i think about it, i’ve never actually seen someone using the reusable bags at the registers…
hmmm…
I have a similar observation about reusable bags… First off, I go to Target everyday to get my lunch. I too bought one of those bags for .99 cents (so convenient how they fold into a wallet sized object). If you use them at Hy-Vee they will give you .5 cents off your bill for every one that you use… HOWEVER- Hy-Vee sells canvas reusuable bags that I witnessed packaged in PLASTIC! What a waste!
