Lasagna & Caucus (firsts)

So two “firsts” have happened in my life: I went to a Caucus and I made Lasagna. Both were interesting experiences.

Nicole’s First Caucus…was awesome. I seriously loved it. My site was right across the street and by 6:30 there was a line outside waiting to get in. It was pure madness. Stickers and signs everywhere. Everyone was excited and the energy in the room was amazing. The last caucus my district had brought in 200+ people, this year 468 democrats filled a church. My representative brought cookies, hell yeah. Caucus & cookies! The process seems archaic, even though there is a wicked formula behind it. But anyway, it was a great time and Barack won in my district (Hill second and Edwards third).

And just in case you are undecided still or just want to take a little quiz:
Match-O-Matic

it matches you up to the candidate you should vote for. However, I took it:
1) Dennis Kucinich
2) John Edwards
3) Mike Gravel (who the fuck is this guy?)

So I don’t know how accurate it is, but I think it was fun.

Nicole’s First Lasagna…was ok. I have always been intimidated about making lasagna and mashed potatoes (I don’t know why). Maybe it is because everyone in my family are rockin’ cooks (especially my mom) and I can’t hold a candle to them. Anyway we tried it and actually it was pretty easy to make and we didn’t burn it or forget anything (like usual)…the problem was the taste, the particular recipe I used had a lot of oregano and apparently I don’t like a lot of oregano. Next time we are going to try Spinach Lasagna.
